Letitia “Tish” James love humans and animals, too!

Letitia “Tish” James is one of those rare politicians that do not just care about humans, but she also care about animals.

She was one of the few politicians that spoke against the extermination of Canada geese in NYC.

Mayor Bloomberg signed a contract with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to kill the geese in the city. Christine Quinn and other politicians did nothing to stop the extermination of these beautiful birds.

Letitia James, said after the massacre of almost 400 geese in Prospect Park, “The City and Port Authority claim that aviation safety demands the birds be killed, but ignore the very fact that cities worldwide deal with the problem of birds near airports without exterminating them. The problem of birds colliding with engines is real, but can be dealt with by employing a range of methods, including radar detection, currently not in use in NYC’s airports.” She added, “Geese populations control can be addressed through a variety of preventive and non-lethal humane methods, such as Ovocontrol, which is a USDA-approved birth control drug for use in geese.”

On October 1, vote for Letitia James for Public Advocate.

If elected, James will become the only woman to hold city-wide office in New York City and the first African American woman ever to do so.

Tomorrow is our big chance to elect Letitia James, a powerhouse progressive who has stood strong on our issues for many years, to the office of Public Advocate for New York City.

Letitia voted against Mayor Bloomberg’s third term, helped reform “Stop and Frisk” and ban racial/religious profiling by the NYPD, and cracked down on deceptive, anti-choice health centers that denied women the right to choose.

The public advocate is first in line to succeed the mayor if he or she becomes unable to serve. The advocate can also introduce legislation in the City Council and make appointments to boards and commissions.

This election will be close. In races like these every single vote matters. You and the people you know will decide this election.

Animals give life to parks, rivers and lakes. A place without animals is a dead place and you do not want to go to a dead park, lake or river, right?

We, Canada geese, swans, skunks, ducks, squirrels, cats, dogs, raccoons, and other animals, can coexist with humans.

Remember to tell your friends and family to vote with you for Letitia James for Public Advocate. Find your poll site here.

Animals of NYC thank you for voting for our friend, Letitia “Tish” James!
